Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have finally returned to England after a long holiday abroad. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they'd be taking a six week sabbatical from their official royal duties towards the end of 2019. Though they never confirmed where they'd be spending Christmas after news broke they'd be skipping out on Queen Elizabeth's annual celebrations, it was widely reported Meghan and Harry took their 8-month-old son, Archie, to Canada for an extended stay. Now that they're back in the U.K., the Duke and Duchess revealed that they did, in fact, spend the last few weeks in Canada.
The Sussexes decided to pay a visit to Canada House in London as their first order of business upon their return. They shared a video of their visit on Instagram alongside a captioning explaining how much Canada means to their family. "Today, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Canada House in London to thank the High Commissioner Janice Charette and staff for the warm hospitality during their recent stay in Canada," the caption reads. "The Duke and Duchess have a strong connection to Canada. It’s a country The Duke of Sussex has visited many times over the years and it was also home to The Duchess for seven years before she became a member of The Royal Family."
Meghan and Harry are so fond of Canada that they've reportedly considered moving there in the past. When tabloid speculation and royal feud rumors were at an all time high, a source told Us Weekly that "Harry refuses to sit and do nothing as the British press scrutinizes Meghan and invades her privacy. Meghan comes across as a strong woman, but she’s been deeply affected by the negative stories about her.”
It seems Meghan and Harry enjoyed their time abroad, as well. The happy family was spotted hiking and walking around town in the Vancouver area. They even shared a new photo of little Archie to celebrate the New Year, as well.
